Dear Pastors and members

Please come and join us for a “Seeing the Light Family Youth and Community
Meeting”. The purpose of the meeting is to understand first, what some of the
major problems that our youth and community faces. Then, use our
knowledge as an opportunity to solve problems that face us.

This meeting will be held on Thursday February 17th, time 7:30 PM at
Victory Baptist Church, 909 Brown Street, Alton, IL. The following have
committed to being present to help us understand some of our youth’s and
community problems, therefore we will see clearer possible solutions and
opportunities that come from we the people and not just from the government.

• States Attorney’s Office – Mr. Bill Haine
• Alton City Alderman – Mr. Fred Young
• Alton School District – Mr. James Baiter
• Alton Youth issues – TBA

Also scheduled to be present are representatives from
• Law enforcement
• Medical Field

We can build a partnership that focuses on the youth and families of our
community but does not stop there! We should be thankful for the blessings
of religious liberty, a sacred trust, stated  in the Declaration of Independence
and guaranteed by the first amendment of the Constitution.  That enables all
citizens to work together freely and openly for the common good. As
beneficiaries of this great legacy, and members of the one body of Christ,
I am hopeful that we can find common ground.

We can be blessed of God by being apart of a new partnership that reaches
out side of our local churches and into the community.  A new partnership
can be formed for the purpose of full filling our Christian duty!

Proverbs 29:18a states, “Where there is no vision, the people perish”.
Our young people are suffering will we the church sit and watch, or
will we try to catch this vision? The general public is invited!
